CRAZY coupon people!

Those people who search the internet for amazing deals, those salivating for the Sunday paper, Ok you know who you are! I am NOT. I have some friends into it, and they love telling me about all the awesome deals they get. I am truly, honestly, happy for them and their deals. I am not one to follow their lead. I do not like grocery shopping. In-fact to say I HATE it would be a mild description, why would I want to prolong the agony by couponing?! Today was a day it seemed too good to pass up. Dr Pepper on sale! I had two different people call to tell me about this deal, so I thought I would give it a go.After all my erends I thought I would stop into Albertsons and grab some DP on sale.

*First mistake* Don't go couponing while tired and ready to go home.

I grab 8 12 pks of DP and 10 vitamin waters in my huge cart with the car attached to the front so Reagan and William will behave for my "quick trip into the store" .

*Second mistake* Don't go couponing with children!!

Get to check out, ( I choose self checkout cause I really have no clue as to what I am doing and didn't want any witnesses.) I ring up 4 dr peppers -OUCH! it comes to $20 and something I about say forget it and walk away but then the discount kicks in and I get 2 free leaving me a total of $11.22 and a nice little $10 dollar coupon in my hand for the next transaction. I ring up 4 more Dr peppers and try to use my coupon but NO, it won't scan so the lady with no front teeth and a bad hair color comes over to help. She can't get it to work so she grabs the telephone and makes the over the intercom announcement for a manager to come for coupon help. (Great! so much for no witnesses.) After about 15 times of telling my kids we are almost done, later the manager with his bright red vest and jingly keys walks up and tries the unscanable coupon. Still, it wont work...Do we see a pattern forming? He would like me to round up the children and take me to a different register to ring up what I just did. He takes 2 $5 discounts (why he can't give me 1 $10.00 discount??) and hands me a bill for $12.00 I pay the man and then use the second $10.00 coupon to ring up my 10 vitamin waters for a total of $0.60 Not bad !

*Third mistake* Know how much you should be paying for the entire transaction BEFORE they ring up.

I finally get my kids to the car and start looking at my receipts, my awesome deal came to $23.82 What the... Thats not the deal it is all suppose to be for $11.82 yeah the brilliant manager who rang up my second transaction forgot to give me the 2 free Dr Peppers. So round up the kids, stomp back into the store with my receipts and tell the customer service lady ( just so happens to be the same one with no front teeth and bad hair) they over charged me. She has a blank look after I re account what has happened and grabs the phone for the manager (AGAIN) Well after explaining things again to the manager he sees the mistake and refunds me the $10.00 YEAH! Okay so here is they happy ending...

all this for $11.82

IS it worth it? You decide

It'll feel worthy when we're camping, it's hot outside, and you are refreshed with a cold DP!
